The scoop was also given on this year’s club fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 5 on the campus mall. Creamery ice cream will be served and the toppings will be placed with various clubs. In order to get your chosen toppings, you must approach that table and see what each club on campus has to offer. Be on the lookout and you might spot up and coming clubs including a literary magazine and an environmental club. The Newspaper Club, home of The PSU Collegian, will be present. Harris stressed the importance of clubs on campus.
“They’re a great way to make friends and meet people with similar interests.” Clubs provide students with real life experience and fill their schedules with positive activities, she added noting, “ Research shows that students who are involved become more aware of campus life and benefit more from campus resources.”
The club fair is a transition from orientation to the rest of the year, for it is in them a student can make the connections that will impact the activities they undertake for the rest of the semester. No matter what your interests, there’s a club for you.
