We’re here for you, to be your voice, and your sounding board. The PSU Collegian is here to have a positive impact on your college experience and the campus community. However, for this mission to be a success, we need you. It is your involvement and feedback that will make this endeavor a success. No talent or story idea is too small to contribute. Do you have news you want covered on campus? A cause you are passionate about and want to share? Do you think there’s something wonderful going on or something that needs to be changed on the Hazleton campus? Whatever news means to you, we’re here to cover it, and your talents and opinions would be a wonderful contribution to our news team, no matter your major or previous experience.
Meetings are Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m. Other meetings may be added but our long term plan includes much of the work being done on a virtual platform with online group sessions, repositories on ANGEL for story and photo submissions and the use of emails and texts. In keeping with our student-centered focus, your submissions, from art and photos to jokes and editorials are gratefully welcomed. Guidelines on what we will accept are in effect and will be printed in the second edition of The PSU Collegian and posted on our Facebook page.
Your insights are our greatest assets. Our reporters are committed to making The PSU Collegian an atypical news vehicle, totally different from any attempt at news coverage that has been on the campus in the past. We hold fast to the idea of freedom of speech and a commitment to transparency. We are grounded in the tenants of integrity that makes us all Penn State proud. If you believe that Penn State Hazleton is a wonderfully vibrant place to be, we encourage you to make your voice heard and get involved.
