From April of this year to November, an adventure game sharing the name of the series was released in five parts, called episodes, chronicling the exploits of a man named Lee and a young girl he rescues named Clementine as they try to do their best to survive in a world where it seems that hope is all but lost.
Originally, the game was only available digitally via Xbox Live, The Playstation Network, or over Steam for the PC garners out there, but now all five episodes- dubbed season one with at least one more season coming in the near future- will all be released on one disc tomorrow priced at $29.99. Now the players have more options when it comes to how they want to purchase and play this game and fewer excuses not to try it out.
The Walking Dead Game has been receiving high praise for its focus on story and character development, and Telltale Games' effort to craft an unforgettable experience over the span of these five episodes has not gone unnoticed. The approach taken is a stark contrast to similar games
in the genre, such as Left 4 Dead or Dead Island, which are games heavy on the action, gore and multiplayer antics.
The Walking Dead Game is a solo experience where it's all about the journey, and it’s a ride that you’ll want to take more than once. Decisions that you make can affect who lives and who dies, and the conversations you have with various characters can alter the way that they look at you based on the dialogue options that you select. Various playthroughs of the game can yield numerous outcomes, and it may be tempting to see the different ways this story can come to an end.
It's not necessary to know anything about the show or the comics to understand what’s going on in this game. The only thing that you really need is a console to play it on, and a strong will to get through the apocalypse and survive.
